Sierra Ecosystem Associates has been working alongside the Tahoe Keys Propert Owners Association (TKPOA), Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), the League to Save Lake Tahoe (The League), and other stakeholders on a project entitled the Tahoe Keys Lagoons Aquatic Weed Control Methods Test Project (CMT or Project), which received regulatory approvals to proceed in Spring 2022. The Project started Spring 2022 (Year 1) in the Tahoe Keys Lagoons and is scheduled to continue through March 2025. The multi-step project aims to evaluate the efficacy of aquatic herbicides for their ability to reduce the biomass of the aquatic invasive plant species present in the Lagoons to levels that can subsequently be controlled with non-chemical control methods. SEA has worked with stakeholders to provide project management support, preparation of NPDES and EIP permit-required submittals, baseline field monitorning, pre-project contracting and purchasing support.
