RENEWABLE ENERGY REGIONAL EXPLORATION PROJECT
South Tahoe Public Utility District/California Energy Commission

On behalf of South Tahoe Public Utility District and the El Dorado County Water Agency, EN2 developed a successful grant application securing $197,000 in response to the CEC Community Scale Renewable Energy Development, Deployment and Integration Grant Program. The Renewable Energy Regional Exploration Project was selected as one of only four grant applications to receive funding. This project demonstrated a coordinated community effort towards the establishment of a local level regional energy plan, which will provide the framework for feasible renewable energy, enabling technology, and grid integration possibilities. The goal of the strategic action plan was to identify strategic actions that will allow STPUD and identified partners to pursue the most economically and environmentally viable renewable energy and enabling technology options outlined in the exploration plan. EN2/SEA's reports identified the steps, partnerships, technical and environmental impediments to overcome, and economic/financial frameworks that will be required for project implementation.
