MARTIS WILDLIFE AREA RESTORATION PROJECT
Truckee River Watershed Council (TRWC)
EN2/SEA served as the CEQA consultant to TRWC and Northstar Community Services District for the Martis Wildlife Area Restoration Project, a stream and habitat restoration project developed by TRWC with support from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other neighboring land managers. The project is located within Martis Valley, approximately three miles east of Truckee. The project proposes restoration of five reaches (a total of 1.6 miles) along Martis Creek, as well as restoration of three small sites on tributaries to Martis Creek. As the CEQA consultant for the project, EN2/SEA developed an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration that required substantive environmental analyses for several potentially affected resources. EN2/SEA developed mitigation measures to avoid and minimize construction impacts to special status species and cultural resource sites of significance.
